Wiggles Birthday Dinner

Every year we take Wiggles and Monkey out for dinner on their birthday or close to it.  This year was no different.  We took Wiggles to a local pizzeria.  The food was pretty good.  We will go back for sure.  Wiggles like the restaurant and has since asked us to go back.

Here is Wiggles and her number 1 guy Daddy.

She was so excited to open her present from us.  She got the next film with Tinker Bell.  The Lost Treasure.

Wiggles turns 5

Well it seems just like yesterday that we brought Wiggles home from the hospital.  But in reality it was 5 years ago.  Oh my where did that time go?  We now have a 5 year old in the house and is such a girl not a little girl.  I asked her what type of party she wanted and it was all about Princesses.  Of course our Princess would choose a princess party why not.  So we put it together. Wiggles invited her closest friends and a few friends from school.  Each year I asked Wiggles and Monkey what type of cake they want me to make.  Well what type of cake would a princess choose?  Non other then a Doll Cake to look just like a Princess.  So Wiggles and I went to the local craft store and bought the supplies.

Pumpkin Patch Time

Well it's past that time again but at least I'm posting about it. :)  Monkey and were able to have some more Mommy and Me time while going to one of the local Pumpkin Patches.  This one we went to is an actual farm so we were able to pick a pumpkin from the field and we learned about all sorts of pumpkins too.  I think when Christmas time comes I'll take him out to look at the trees too just for fun!

Monkey is about 2 pumpkins tall

Monkey wasn't too sure about this goat.  They both kept their distance from each other.

A friend was able to take a quick picture of us on the Hay ride before we got going.

Monkey going into the corn maze.

Monkey did a great job find a way out he loved this maze.  The best part is at the end you got to pick out your pumpkin.

Monkey did a great job picking out a pumpkin almost perfectly round and he was able to carry it himself too!  It was a great day to get a pumpkin!

Chuck E Cheese!!

At wiggles new school we have a fundraiser at least once a month.  This helps with tuition staying low and it gives us as a family to go out together for some fun.  This time it was a Chuck E Cheese.  We don't go there too often at least not on are own accord.  But we will go if it's raising money for school or perhaps an awards banquet.  Here is the only picture from that night.  We were having so much fun I just forgot to take more pictures. :) I know it's not the best picture....

Soccer Time

This year Wiggles signed up for soccer!  Oh was I so excited.  I love soccer.  These pictures are from the beginning of the season.  Wiggles has improved so much from the beginning, we are so proud of her.  I've been able to help out at soccer practice for the last few weeks and have enjoyed it so much.  I don't think I'll be coaching anytime soon but it is nice to get out there and help.

Wiggles and team mate taking direction from the Coach, there they go break away!  And our little Wiggles too cute a picture for me to pass up. :)
She is enjoying the season.  Not sure what we will do with our free weekends in a few weeks.

Visit to the Fire Station

Monkey and I were able to go visit a local Fire Station with our MOPS group back in mid Sept.  I know a little late on the posting.  We have been so busy with taking Wiggles to school, MOPS, AWANA, and not to mention the regular things that need to be done around here.  So I'm going to try and get caught up the best I can for now.    So Monkey and I were able to go visit the Fire Station.  Poor Monkey didn't like it when the fire alarm (non-emergency just an example) went off or when the guys dressed in their uniforms.

After the education part we were able to take a tour of the Station and go look at the trucks.  Monkey even was able to pretend to do work the water hose.

Very serious about the job at hand.  We had a great time Monkey loved looking at all the trucks.

Changes are a happening!

Well there are going to be some changes coming to our blog.  They are not My Two Little Monkeys anymore.  So I need to change a few things to reflect this.  So you will see some changes soon to this blog!  I am so sad that I haven't been keeping up on the blog lately.  I will be trying to update soon.  The new blog is now called The Adventures of Wiggles and Monkey.  G Monkey is now Wiggles.  She has had a birthday and just isn't a monkey anymore.  She wiggles all the time hence the new nickname.  Stay tune for all the Adventures.....

Day of firsts for both Monkeys 2

So after school we had a few house (2) before our First night of AWANA. This year G Monkey is in Sparks and B Monkey is in Cubbies with me. I'm still a Table leader in Cubbies but this year I moved up to the 4 year olds since B Monkey is in the other class. We will see how it goes. It was a successful night.

Day of Firsts for both Monkey's

Well today was the day of firsts. G Monkey going to big kid school finally, B Monkey starting AWANA, and Mommy realizing her kids are growing up way too fast.

We started out with G Monkey. Her first day of Kindergarten. Can it be, really she's ready, she's old enough. Okay she's going. Weather I'm ready or not. There weren't many tears I held them in so she wouldn't start. G Monkey got up herself and wanted a good breakfast that would hold her over. Breakfast Burrito, which was good cause I didn't want her having a sugary cereal the first day. Best foot forward the first day.
She picked out what uniform combo to wear, and walla she's ready to go. Backpack in had and off we go. B Monkey was happy she was going, when I said we need to go pick up G Monkey he said NO I don't want too. Well looks like the love hate relationship is still going strong. Really I think he just likes having Mommy to himself. Such the Mama's boy (I'm working on this for the sake of his future wife, really I am)....

We got G Monkey to school on time and took her into her class, we got her all settled in and then they had to line up for pledges and chapel.
Once done with that B Monkey and I were off to Mimi's Cafe for breakfast with friends.
Once done we went of a few errands and then back to pick up G Monkey. She had a great day. Over all the first week of school was great. G Monkey did cry on Friday but I think part of that was that 3 other kids were and the week was starting to catch up with her.

Experimenting

So I was experimenting with this picture. What do you all think?

Soccer Practice

Well this year G Monkey FINALLY get to play Soccer!!! She has been asking for two years to play. So when she asked again this year, we got online and started looking around. We found out AYSO was still accepting applications for our area and we were sold. We had to pay the late fee but an extra fee is well worth it this year. She is having so much fun!
Totally excited that G Monkey has asked to play soccer. I played when I was younger and loved it! I hope she will to but if she doesn't that's okay.

Going to the Aquarium

This summer we did lots and lots of fun things. One thing we did was go to Aquarium with family. We picked up my cousin Steph and her husband Mike and met Auntie Susan there. The kids had so much fun visiting with each of them as did I. It was great having extra hands while going to a place like this too. I was able to enjoy the kids excitement with out being overwhelmed.
Auntie Susan and the Monkey's looking at the bat rays and touching them. :) Well Auntie Susan touched them. Here are Steph, Mike and the Monkey's. We were waiting for the Sea Lion Show. Talk about forced smiles. I think they were done buy now. Wait yup were done here. This just cracked me up. I said B Monkey let me take your pictures and he did this. I guess he was done.

Okay okay I'm not super mom.....

Okay I'm going to tattle on myself. I'm not super mom like many of you think. ;0) Yesterday, while I was working on school related things for G Monkey. B Monkey decided he wanted to go outside and play in his sand table. Well B Monkey has a stealth mode when he wants. He opened the door and walked outside. Meanwhile I'm working away at the computer trying to figure out all the ins and outs of Box Tops and Campbell soup points. Yes I yet again volunteered to help out in this area. Well B Monkey didn't close the screen or sliding door when he took his little walk outside. No matter how many times we tell them close the door he still wont listen. Well he's playing outside and I think he's just playing with his cars by the couches which are near the back door. I can hear him he sounds like he's inside. Well G Monkey comes and asks if she can go outside. I tell her no honey it's too hot (103.8 yesterday). Then she starts to complain about B Monkey playing outside. I look up and find him happily playing outside, with the door open. Well, I quickly bring him in talk to him about opening the back door and front door and how he is NOT aloud to open the front and back doors with out Mommy or Daddy saying he can. So we got that down and a time out. (this is not the first time he's opened doors on his own accord).
So 45 mins later we here a scratching noise at the back door. I think man Toby has got something good to be doing that. She sure did. She was outside! OMGoodness. I never thought to look for the cat when B Monkey left the door open. So Toby has a little afternoon field trip somewhere. But boy did she want back in. LOL

Family Vacation part 2 - Hiking

One of our favorite (well most of like this) pastimes is going hiking. So we did our usual hike to the bridge out of Happy Isles. Love this hike especially when we get a good start on the day. So we hiked to the bridge. Yes there was complaining from the littlest of our clan. I think it was like every other foot step he'd complain. But managed to keep quite as people would pass us by and comment on how well our kids were doing, and then tell their own kids to stop complaining. It's always fun to see how the falls are doing.

Then one day Daddy and daughter went on a hike up the mist trail. Such a trooper. They got up early and started out.

Here is G Monkey taking a break at the bridge having a snack and getting ready for the 2nd 1/2 of the hike.

Daddy and Daughter at the top of the waterfall. So happy.

The treat at the end of the waterfall!! Yum Yum!!

Family Vacation part 1

Our family vacation will be in several parts. So much to share, easier to do in parts.

Okay with that out of the way.....

So this last year has been very trying for our family. Traveling to LA almost every weekend for a couple months, being really busy with family and friends, Papa Monkey getting a new and better job and the biggest trying time the loss of my Dad (might blog on this later). At first with the new job I thought since it just happened we'd have to forgo the vacation this year. But we were able to still keep it on the calendar. So we packed up the trailer and went to Yosemite for some much needed R&R, or at least get away from the civilization for some time to ourselves. We stayed in our usual spot on Friday night at the Walmart parking lot. Noise but got some sleep. I had a picture but have since lost it. Oh well. It's just a parking lot right. The next morning we got up and started our final journey to the Valley.

There is something about Yosemite that once there I just feel like it's okay I can relax and enjoy life. Almost instantly I can relax and let go. Not sure what it is but I wish I could bottle it up and take it with me where ever I go.

We had to wait in a line of I think it was 1 hour to get through the entrance where we pay our money. See how the kids kept busy. Stretching and making faces of course. We had to remind the little monkey's to look out the window and not at their books. G Monkey's stomach was not feeling well. We made it down the hill into the valley. Settled in and just relaxed the first day.
G Monkey making faces. She's getting really good at this.
B Monkey stretching and making a face. Boy was he ready to get out of the car.

This was day one getting into Yosemite. We were there for 7 days.

Go Diego Go!

So for B Monkey's Birthday, he wanted a Diego Party. You might wonder how we came up with that theme. Well Take a kid to Michael's and tell him to pick out a cake tin. They had many to choose from Cars, Trains, Walle, Monkey's, about 10 to choose from after you take out the girl themed cakes. He went for Diego. No big deal right! Well my little monkey choose the cake with the MOST color changes. I had Daddy Monkey take some pictures of me icing this cake. I started at 7am and got done around 2pm the day of the party which started at 3pm.

So here you have me starting the cake.

And here is me finishing the cake. Little dark on the hair but it still came out okay.

I love you Mommy.... But!

I know I haven't posted in a while but I have been busy with birthday parties, vacations, cleaning and other things. I will catch up soon. I did have to share this tonight though. Daddy Monkey is out looking at cars we need one with better mileage. So I have the kids to myself. I've fed them given then a great dessert tonight, bathed them and set them to watch what else then Mary Poppins. Well G Monkey just came in and said " Mommy I love you, but could you make me some popcorn." Okay I know know her game. When something starts with Mommy I love you, she's looking for something. She's buttering me up. It's the tone in her voice that gives it away. I thought when she came in she was going to ask for some cold water, like B Monkey did. Nope she was going for the bigger thing. She thought she was going to butter me up and I'd let her have some popcorn. But wait what's the rule oh yeah NO FOOD IN MOMMY AND DADDY'S room. :) I didn't yell at her don't worry. I just wanted to emphasize the rule. Okay I will up load pictures tonight and BLOG more tomorrow. I also have some great news about Ms. G Monkey but you'll have to wait til tomorrow. Unless your a friend on Facebook in which case you can check my status and find out tonight. :)
