Mom and Dad get out!

I know a shocker!  Mom and Dad got out for an afternoon with out the kids. Some friends of ours suggested we go to a local Brewing company take a tour and have  dinner.  We said okay, and got a babysitter.

Here's the gang, sorry you can't see their fronts.  I was behind taking pictures. :)  It's a rather small brewery but very fun.
Here is our tour guide.
 The casking process
Their little display of hops, malts, etc.
The tour was pretty good. It was quick. I wish they would have gone over more of the history of the company.  Oh well.  Maybe next time.  It was fun to get out with our friends and have adult talk for a couple hours.  Need to figure out where we will go next hmmm....

Wiggles 1st Jogathon

Wiggles school had another fundraiser.  A jog a thon, we just did a flat rate donation and Nana and Papa did to though I still don't know they found out about it.  We have so many fundraisers at the school that I've stopped telling and asking for donations.  We just make a donation and be done with it.  It saves on the awkwardness, of asking friends and family to support our choice to send our child to a private school.

As I was saying before I went on the rant (sorry). Wiggles had a jog a thon, and she did awesome.  She ran 19 laps I'm glad I didn't offer a per lap donation.  She was such a trooper, encouraging her friends.  Monkey even ran a few laps to support Wiggles.  They are such a team.  Picture 1) Monkey is walking the course. 2) Wiggles leaving her classroom to get ready for the jog a thon. 3) Wiggles running next to her friend B.  4) Checking in with her teacher to make sure her lap was recorded.  Did I say she ran 19 laps 19. Wow those little legs can run.  5) Taking a quick rest so that I could take a picture with some friends C and M.  I had to leave early for a dentist appt so I didn't get to take pictures after the run where they all got Popsicles. Next year....

The International Lunch for Kindergarten

Another event that happened on Goodies for Grandparents was the International Lunch for Kindergartners. So we came back to help in the classroom.  Above are the parents serving the kids the lunch.  We had things like salami, perogees, fried rice, lumpias, Vietnamese cake (similar to angel food cake), chips ahoy cookies, fruit, chicken, and many other dishes.
The kids trying the food
Wiggles teacher even aloud Monkey to participate in the lunch.  He's kinda like the class mascot.
There's Nani watching and helping with the kids.

Reading with Nani..

While Wiggles was at school Monkey took full advantage of having Nani all to himself!  He had Nani reading to him, playing all sorts of games.  When it was time to get Wiggles he didn't want to go pick her up and he certainly didn't want Nani to go either.

Goodies for Grandparents....

Through out this school year Wiggles has had special days for people to come and read to the children.  First it was Muffins for Mom's, then it was Donuts for Dad's and then finally it was Goodies for Grandparent's.

Wiggles invited Nani and Papa to come to school and read to her class.  Nani jumped at the chance to come and read.
Here is Nani getting ready to read.  Wiggles even had Monkey come and sit with her. :)  I wish I had taken note of the book Nani read but I forgot to do that. :(  The kids loved it and Nani had the kids echo back to her some of the book.  It really kept the kids involved and interested in the book.
After reading to the kids we waited for the other Grandparents to read and then we said our goodbyes and went to the founders room for Goodies.  Monkey got to share some goodies with Nani.
Wiggles was so excited to have Nani come to her school, and Monkey loved hearing Nani read to the class.

Easter Fun

We don't normally take the time to take family photos, but recently I've asked more often.  This time it was Daddy's idea.  So we took a few and this is the best one.  Sometimes Monkey reminds me of the friends episode when they try to have one of the guys smile and he just can't seem to do it.  It's rare that we get a picture of Monkey smiling nicely.  So this is our Easter family picture.

I had originally thought we'd stay home for Easter since Wiggles spring break ended that Sunday and she needed to be back in school the next morning.  That was my plan at least.  At the last minute we ended up at Nani's and Papa's.

We had a great time visiting with our new niece and the rest of the family.  Nani put together a quick egg hunt and the kids had fun.
Ready set GO!
Here is Wiggles on the hunt for eggs.
And here we have Monkey with his eggs.  See the nice smile.  One in a million!
He made 30 cents during the egg hunt.
And here is Wiggles stash.
Unfortunately Wiggles didn't make anything in the egg hunt.

It's our turn Egg Dying take 2

The dye is ready and so are the eggs.  All we need now are a few willing participants and we are ready to go.
Here we are the participants minus Mommy (who's taking the pictures).  As you can see in the cups we started dying the eggs.
Here is Daddy carefully checking on an egg.  I realized after dying the eggs even though I dislike the black counters in our kitchen they are great when dying eggs you can't see any stains. :)
Here is Wiggles looking on waiting patiently for the eggs to dye their color and dry.
Our finished product.  We wanted vibrant and we got it!!

The Good Old German Market.

Have you ever tried to find Hungarian Salami for a class project only to find it's harder then you thought and the price of it well it must have been a mistake?  (So almost everyone that reads my blog the 5 of you; probably not) Wiggle's kindergarten class was having an international lunch and we were told to bring something from your Heritage.  Well I thought hey lets get some salami. Little did I know that down where we live that's a really hard feet to do, and when we did find it I thought wait this can't be right on the price.  So we went to the only place I thought we'd get a "deal"  The Old German Market where I grew up.  So while on Spring Break with the kids we hit the market with Nani.  I was wrong on the 'deal' but now that I know this I can say I tried.  We did get the salami and a few other missed items like the German Rye bread, and Alpine Rye.  Oh to live closer I would be in constant trouble.  When we left the kids had to ride the Merry Go Round.  It was their last time on it because lets face it my kids are not getting smaller they are growing like weeds.

Decorating Easter Eggs?

A couple years ago we tried to dye Easter eggs. IT was not successful at all and I thought then I'd never try it again.  Too stressful for me, a huge mess.  Well I must be getting brave.  Monkey and I went to do our weekly shopping and I saw the egg dye stuff for $1.50.  I thought that's cheap, lets get it.  So we did.  Monkey was super excited.

For spring break we went to see our new little cousin. While we were there Monkey and Wiggles got to try dying a few eggs with Nani.  It went really well so I felt more confident that when we went home and tried it we would be successful.
Nani and the kids setting up to dye eggs.
Monkey trying hard not to make a mess. He was concentrating so hard.
Wiggles working on her eggs.
The finished product.  Not bad for Monkey's first time and Wiggles second time.

Cousins Cousins Cousins

Another adventure we did on Wiggle's Spring Break, we came to see their new cousin.  She was due on Monday so we made plans to come out on Monday in hopes that Baby C would come on her due date.  God had better plans. She came on Friday instead.  I call her fast and furious, her Mama can explain that later.  It was perfect timing though so the kids and I came out so we could meet little M.  Wiggles was so excited an new little person to play with. :)  We had a low key few days before going back home.  Little M is so cute and sweet, she hardly made a peep.
Here are all four of them posing for the picture.  It's hard to get them all to look at the same direction and smile.

Wiggles loves her little cousins.  Here she is with A clapping and playing.

And here she is trying to help Auntie put Little M down.  She actually sung to her and she fell asleep. :) Such a good helper.

That's right it's time to swim already!

The other weekend we were invited to a Pool party.  It was one of our friends birthday and what better way to celebrate then a pool party!  I realized just before we needed to go over that Wiggles swim suit was a size or two too small.  So we ran over to Kohl's to get a new one.  Above is her new suit.  It's more pink that in the above picture.  Think Electric...   Anyways we had a great time, swimming and sitting in their hot tub.  I think we need one too but not a chance right now. :)
Don't be fooled by Monkey's sad face, he's having fun....
Here is how we warmed the kids up.  In the hot tub.  It was like a bath really.  The kids especially liked the bubbles.  We'd turn the jets on and bubbles would appear.  :)

The box is almost as big as Monkey!!!

Monkey got a new HOT WHEELS set from his Uncle B.  Boy does he love it.  Before Monkey and Daddy played with it.  I made Wiggles and Monkey stand next to the box.  Just because the box was almost as big as Monkey.  If I let them they would play with it all day long.  Thanks UNCLE B!!!!
