Our favorite Vegas family comes to visit.

We recently had our Friends from Vegas come out for a quick visit.  Phone call at 8am here by 7pm.  The best visits aren't always planned in advance.  :)    So Craig, Becky and their kids came for a visit.  I was going to help J man learn to blow his nose but we never actually tried.  We were having too much fun being tourists.  We went to a Maritime Museum.  It was pretty cheap considering my kids were free due to their age.  I did pay some money for them so we could take a trip round the bay.  Wiggles and Monkey had so much fun playing with J Man and M Man.  It's too bad they live so far away.

While out on the boat ride we were able to see the Dole boat come in.  Wiggles was so excited since she loves bananas.  All those containers have bananas in them. Yum Yum...

We took our friends to the beach afterwords.  How fun was this, they had so much fun.
I even enjoyed the cold water with the kids. :)

Drive in Movie Night @ AWANA

Every week at AWANA there is a theme night.  This particular night it was drive in movie night.  So all the parents make a car for the kids to sit in while they watch the movie.  Thankfully we didn't go anywhere this year between Christmas and New Years.  That gave us or rather Daddy and Wiggles time to build the car.

Here is the "truck" being painted silver/grey.

Here's Wiggles taking a break from painting the car.

Here's Wiggles sporting her cool car.  Head on shot.

Here's the side view.  She actually won 3rd place for the girls. :)

New Years Eve

We've talked about going to Pasadena to stay on the street New Year's Eve, and to go look at the floats before the big parade.  So this year for New Year's Eve we drove to Pasadena (no small task)  to look at the floats before the big parade.  I still think the kids are too young for an all niter on the parade route.  One of these days we will do that and your all invited to join us. Even you East Coasters!!!(hint hint)

We were able to see hubby's college float being worked on which was a bonus for us.  We had to wait in line but it moved fast.   Then we were able to see some floats being worked on.

I'm sure in the case of the following picture OSHA was not contacted nor would they approve.  These College students were taking off the cross bars(which stabilized the scaffolding) and move them to the other side.  One kid was not keen on this and you could tell by the ashen look on his face.

When we were done looking at all the floats we stopped in the park to enjoy an impromptu picnic with local fair.  Loved the time with just the four of us.  The kids loved looking at the floats and being able to run free for a while.

Wow has it really been 9 years?

How else do you spend YOUR anniversary?  Well if your us at a Football game of course.  Yes we really went to a football game. Well actually a Bowl game to be exact.  We were able to get tickets to the Holiday bowl.  We watched Nebraska stomp all over Arizona.  Before the game we were discussing what the end of the game score would be.  I had read some where that it was to be 34 to 0 Nebraska.  Well the end score was 33 to 0 Nebraska.

Now because we are Husker fans we go all out when getting ready for the game.  Even though the kids didn't get to go I still made sure they showed their Husker pride.

Okay so you can totally see Wiggles cheek, but Monkey didn't want it on his face so he settled on his arm you can still see if you look closely.

And of course I show my Husker pride!  I go all out....
We were able to get awesome seats too!  IT was raining that day so we were a bit worried that we'd be sitting in the rain so we came prepared for it.  Thankfully we didn't need the rain gear.  We were three or four rows in from the upper deck.  Below is a picture from our seats.  Couldn't have asked for better.

Here's a picture of us before the game.  Can't believe it's been 9 years....

Kids Shopping Spree!!!

Well for Christmas the kids got some gift cards.  One place was to Build A Bear.  So while on Christmas vacation we took Wiggles and Monkey out on a shopping spree.  We made a day of it and went out to lunch too.  They has so much fun.  Wiggles bought a cat as you can see in the picture.  Monkey got a bear and dressed him like his favorite character (Darth Vader).  Both love their stuffed animals.

Visitor from the EAST!!!!

This past holiday season we had a visitor from the east.  Though it was a very short visit we hope she will come back out again soon.  Maybe in the summer where the days are long and hot.  I know Wiggles and Monkey would LOVE Auntie Glitterbug  to come back out...
So while Auntie Glitterbug (AG) was out we went out to Legoland for the day.  That was AG's present to the kids.  Oh my how much fun did they have, and it was a something fun for the kids to do too.
The kids were able to see some of their favorite friends. Like Thomas, and Bob the Builder.

Then the kids and Daddy took a ride on an airplane. Wiggles had a great time but Monkey really didn't have fun though it looked like at first he was.

See what I mean.
So I don't know what it is about this picture but I absolutely LOVE this picture of AG.  It's just too funny I guess.

As we walk through we go through Main Street USA.  This is a picture I took of New Orleans.  Again can't stop laughing at this picture.  I especially love the camera men on the left side.

While we were there Wiggles and Monkey were able to practice their driving and were able to get their licenses too.  Of course they don't know it.  I'm not ready for that...

And lastly here's a picture of AG with Wiggles and Monkey.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving time and we headed out to the desert for our annual Thanksgiving desert trip. :)  We keep trying to come up with fun things to do while we go out there.  So this year we went looking for animals.  We found an Elephant and and Eagle.  Monkey was terrified of the Eagle and didn't want to go near it but he was okay with going up to the elephant.  I can understand the Eagle is big and did have his claws out.  The elephant was much more gentle and just wanted some company.

Then Daddy trying to get in on the act and tried to get the eagle to eat his head.  Strangely Monkey thought this was funny.  I guess when it's not your head anything can be funny.

Back pedaling

I'm going back and trying to catch up with past events.  So we are going back to November.  Wiggles finished her first year in Soccer and we had her awards night.  Of all places we had it at Chuck E Cheeses'.  The kids had a great time.  Above is Wiggles receiving her trophy and award from her Coaches.  Below is a close up of Wiggles with her trophy and award.

And the rain came down down down.....

So we have been having a bit of rain here lately. Wanted to post these pictures.  It hardly rains here and when it does wow it comes down. Above you have a good picture of our street.  You can barely see the sidewalk on the other side.  See the corner?

Proof, big SUV coming down the street.  They had the wall of water with them the entire way down the street.  Wish that was us driving down the street with the wall of water and someone taking the picture for us.

You can see the sidewalk was now going away too.

There is a small curb here though you can't really see it.   Monkey and I went out to look at all this fun going on.on our street.  (We were watching from the garage)  Anyways, Monkey pointed out something blue near the tire of our Honda.  My toy that's my toy.  I tried to reassure him it wasn't but then I looked closer (as much as you can from a garage to curb distance) and realized it was his toy.  I told him I'd get it later and well it's surfing it's way to the ocean as we speak.  But I bet he'll put his toys away now.  Good learning experience for him.  Wait till he tells Wiggles.....

Starting the New Year with a BANG!

Well we got up New Years Day earlier then anticipated.  We had our cinnamon buns and orange juice, while we watched the parade and commented on which floats we had seen the day before.  The day wore on nothing new. Wiggles had been working on a loose tooth for awhile and we thought it would be another month before it would come out.  Nope!  Just before dinner Daddy checked on the tooth.  He asked if we could delay dinner by 10 mins so we could take care of the tooth.  Wiggles was so brave!  She was a little concerned while watching Daddy make a lasso out of the tooth floss but didn't wavier.  Wiggles and Daddy went into the bathroom and out she came one less tooth.

There she is coming out of the bathroom with one less tooth.
I know the next question is do you do the Tooth Fairy?  Well we did put a dollar under her pillow but we didn't confirm or deny that there is in fact a "real" Tooth Fairy.  This morning when she woke she said the tooth is still there nothing else we asked if she was sure? Wiggles went back and looked and came back with the dollar Daddy put under her pillow.  When asked if the Tooth Fairy is a girl or boy Wiggles said a boy.  Hmm did she see Daddy put the money under her pillow??  Oh and just so you all know the tooth next to it on the left is real loose too so she'll be getting another dollar soon.  Though Daddy thought a Lincoln was the right price for a lost tooth.  I thought hey a quarter would be good.  So a dollar was settled upon.  So what do tooth's go for in your home these days?

Happy New Years!!!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful New Years!  We went to check out the Rose Parade Floats and drove the route. I know Crazy but we all had fun.  That was New Years Eve!  Then we went to a friends house for dinner, came home and the kids well they didn't make it to see the New Years Festivities. They were fast asleep hoping the next day would come when we'd have cinnamon buns for breakfast and watch the floats we just saw on tv!  Below are some pictures of New Years Eve!

Here's the gang waiting inline to see some floats

Here is one float of the floats we saw.

Lots of monkeys on this float. Quite fitting since we have a Monkey and Wiggles. I've never smelt flowers like this before. It smelled so good.

Here we are having an impromptu picnic lunch! Such a fun day!

Driving the route of the parade!  That's Wrigley's Mansion now the Rose Parade Headquarters.
We had such a fun day doing that.  We all got ready in about an hour and were in the car driving over.  Wiggles and Monkey did such a great job. We were so proud of them.
