Happy Birthday Daddy!!!

We were able to Celebrate Daddy's Birthday this month!!  The kids had so much fun planning the "party".  They were so excited to wish Daddy Happy Birthday and to sing to him first thing in the morning.  Wiggles was the most excited.  At school they have recently celebrated 3 kids birthdays.  So Wiggles and Monkey went to work letting me know what we decorations we needed and what the theme would be.  And what else could the theme be but Star Wars.  Monkey went with me to get Daddy's presents and to make sure we got the plates.  Above is the cake I made.  Yes those are legos on top.  We didn't find any Star Wars cake decorations at the store so I improvised. 

The kids and I wrapped the presents and signed our cards.  The waiting is just too much for Monkey right now.  He wanted to open all the gifts for Daddy and Daddy wasn't even home when that was attempted. 

Finally Daddy came home from work.  We were able to go out to dinner.  We went to Island's which we all love.  Upon entering the restaurant Wiggles announces that we are celebrating her Daddy's Birthday.  It was so funny.  She loves her Daddy, she wants everyone to celebrate with us. :)  We managed to have dinner and come back to the house so Daddy could finally open his presents.  (If you can get the presents with out any kids in tow I would highly recommend this.  Monkey I think spilled the beans on two of his presents because he wanted to play with them.  Shhh Monkey Shhhh.  After presents it's time to eat cake right?

Daddy had a very enjoyable birthday and the kids did too.  The only tears were when the kids had to go to bed.  Monkey didn't want the party to stop. :) 

One of the presents Daddy got for his birthday was a ski hat made by Auntie Glitterbug.  Which he totally loves by the way.  Perfect fit too.  Thank You Auntie Glitterbug!!!

Oh No it's a 1/2 day what's for lunch!!!

Every month Wiggles has a half day at school.  Monkey and I go and pick her up after our MOPS meeting.  This particular half day was on Ash Wednesday.  Monkey and I stayed with Wiggles while her school had a special service.  Usually Monkey and leave after or before pledges so I can help set up for our MOPS meeting.  This day was an exception.  So after the service Monkey and I rushed over to MOPS enjoyed a wonderful meeting, and then we had to rush back over to the school to pick up Wiggles.  I try to do fun things on half days, we either have friends over for lunch or we will swing buy Old Mac Donald's (kids name for McDonalds)

Anyways I didn't feel like it today so we went home and came up with something for the kids to make.   Mini pizzas is what we ended with.  Both kids got to put spaghetti sauce on their english muffins, and then add all the cheese they wanted.  Both had a blast with this. I will make sure to have the supplies on hand for future half days or days when friends come to play. 

Happy Valentine's Day!

This year Valentine's Day just flew in.  We've been really busy this year be I made it in to get a few things for the kids and the Hubby.  I thought oh time to get my Hugs and Kisses.  That would be Tulip and Irises.  The last few years my Hubby has gotten me Tulips and Irises from Proflowers.   They are beautiful every year.  Though I was pleasantly surprised this year because I got Rose.  They were so pretty.  I recently had to get rid of time because our lovely cat :(  has been eating them.  Yes you read right the Cat has been eating the flowers.  Last night was the last straw I thought she was really sick when she coughed up the evidence. Under closer review I realized we didn't need to take her to the Kitty Emergency room.  It was just time to take the flowers outside to save the cat.  You'd think she'd learn but nope sad to say she didn't.   The flowers were beautiful and I was so happy to get them. I had a smile on my face for at least a week. :)

Monkey actually took a nap!

I know it doesn't seem like much but, Monkey never takes naps anymore.  This particular day he must have been feeling under the weather.  I don't remember us being overly busy.  I sat down with Wiggles to practice her reading.  Monkey asked to join us. He crawled up on the couch and sat next to me.   Wiggles and I continued working on the assigned pages for the night.  When we were done Wiggles went on her way and I looked over at Monkey.  Sound a sleep leaning on my shoulder.  So I said his name a few times and he didn't budge.  So I carefully moved laid him down he was out.  I let him sleep for a 1/2 hour since it was already late afternoon, and I wanted him to go to bed with no problems, which he did.  He's so cute when he's sleeping. 

Going to the Park

Okay so over the weekend we walked to the park for a friends birthday party.  We decided to put the kids in the wagon this time and let them ride on over.  They had lots of fun riding in the wagon.  We've been using the wagon as a toy box for Wiggles but thought hey why not use it for what it's suppose to be used for.

Both kids actually like to swing now.  Before they hated to swing.  Though Monkey still wants to swing in the baby swings.  I think I've convinced him otherwise after this last attempt. 

 

This can't be comfortable for him.  

Here is Wiggles swinging she sure loves it now that she has learned to pump her legs to go higher.
