Indian Princesses - Pine Wood Derby.

Wiggles and Daddy were invited to join Indian Princesses by a friends family.  They agreed and had their first camp out not too long ago.  One of their activities was pine wood derby racing.  Daddy and Wiggles got a late start on Wiggles car.  Not to worry though cause Daddy has lots of experience from his Boy Scout days.  So they went to work building her car.

Don't worry she was wearing work glasses she was properly geared up.  Wiggles had such a fun time making her car with Daddy.

Showing off her sanding job.  It was a really good job. Monkey wanted to make one too. He got about 1/2 way done before it got put away.  Another day....
Painting the car. Wiggles got to help spray paint her car. Daddy is just helping out here.
Putting the final touches on the car.  See it had wings to help it fly down the track.  They did a good job in their tribe but will have to wait for next year to try and compete with the others.

HAPPY 7TH BIRTHDAY WIGGLES!!!!

WOW another year has gone by!  It seems just like yesterday that we went in for our induction with you.  I remember everything about that day.  The nervousness about the delivery, and taking care of a little life.  Now I worry about who You're friends with, are you setting a good example for your brother, the list goes on and on.
Our little peanut.

Oh what fun you've brought all of us over these last 7 years.  Our little ballerina, who loves to dance in her room and sing along to almost everything you listen too.  Your starting to love to read and share Jesus with little kids around.  What a magical thing to see. I know your not so little anymore but you will always be my little girl no matter how old you get.

This picture was taking last night at dinner. See not so little anymore.  You're an amazing girl who loves life and is living it to the fullest that a 7 year old can.   I love you so much, and I pray you never question my love for you, or forget how much you are loved by everyone who knows you.

Happy Birthday Wiggles!  My wish for you this next year is that you continue to share your love of Jesus with others and that your dreams come true!  Love you my sweet little (ok not so little) Ballerina!

Thank You Grandma

A while back we went to Daddy's Grandparents house and Wiggles had fun playing with Grandpa.  They had a tea party.  Well Grandma found a tea set and pretend food and sent it to Wiggles through Nani and Papa.  We brought it home and had both kids open it up.  They were so excited to have their own tea parties and practice making good food choices, as well as preparing a meal.

They had it all out of the packaging like it was Christmas!  Thanks Grandma! The kids are having so much fun!

Mommy... I mean Ms. Robin... I mean Mrs. ******

As some know before I was a Mom I was a Teacher.  I use to teach 1st grade, before moving to where we now live. I then became a substitute teacher because the district just wasn't hiring.  Well now that my son is in Kindergarten, we've decided that I'll go back to work part time.  Why not but we just didn't know what I would do that would work around the kids busy and I mean busy schedule...

So last year I inquired with the principal of the kids school if they needed substitute teachers.  I had heard from some of the teachers that they just didn't have many and they couldn't go to workshops or such because of that. So I saw a potential opportunity.  So I asked and I got a 'Oh yes we'd love it if you could, we need subs'.  So I waited to get an application since it was too early for me to start (Monkey was only in 1/2 day preschool, only 3 days a week).  Word had started to spread that I wanted to sub and some teachers even asked if I'd start now.  I had to turn them down which they totally understood.

I did turn in the application and waited and waited and waited. I hadn't heard from the principal and so I began to think that door had closed which I was fine with I would just volunteer at the kids school no big deal.  But then I heard I was on the sub list? I hadn't heard anything so I inquired.  Sure enough they put me on the sub list and one day Wiggles came home with a fat envelope with more paperwork to fill out.  I even had one teacher call asking me to sub but since I had not gotten any paperwork filled out I said no.  So with in matter of 1 week I had gotten all the paperwork filled out doctor's appts done and fingerprints completed and I was ready to go.

My first job was to fill in as an aide for one week.  But then I got a call on Saturday saying I needed to fill in for 4th grade for the beginning of the week and then be the aide in 1st the rest of the week.  WOW the I filled in again for the aide in 1st a couple more times.  But the best job was being Monkey's teacher for a day!

Oh it was so fun!  The kids would call me Mommy at school when I was working and their teachers would correct them when we walk through the gate I'm no longer Mommy I'm Mrs.******.  The kids thought this was so funny.

When the day came for me to be Monkey's teacher I told him I'm Mrs.****** today okay sweetie.  He agreed and we went to work.  Monkey did an awesome job too.  He once called me Ms. Robin and I corrected him and he remembered and then corrected himself.  Then there were two times where he had to really think before calling me over oh he tried so hard and I was so proud of him.  By the end of the day he was calling me by the right name and was even telling me stories as if I really wasn't his mom but just the teacher.  I let him tell the stories and once said I know I was there remember and he just looked up at me and smiled.  It was so cute!!!

I found out later that the teachers were a bit concerned that I was going to be in his class teaching him.  They thought he might misbehave but we had none of that.  I always knew if I had to home school I could with him.
