Monkey's Room

Update to the last post, Monkey's room is finished.  Here are some pics from paint day.  My friend Michele came over to help paint.  She helped out so much, and gave me a few pointers too. 

I'm a DIY'er

Well I'm now a DIY'er.  I took it upon myself to redo the kids rooms.  Right now Monkey is getting his room redone.  Gone are the yellow walls and ceiling.  A new white ceiling was painted by me, and his walls will be painted a blue with white trim.  When the room is finished he will have Star Wars vinyls up and special vinyl I picked just for him over a year ago.  You will have to wait to see the completed pictures but here are the pics from today.

Prepping the room carpet is covered ready to go. 

Nope didn't cheat did it all. 

Closet is done.

 Ceiling is started.  I did go back tonight and took down the fire alarm to paint under it. 

Aww, all done a white ceiling. Now if Monkey should ever decided to paint his room we just have to paint the walls. :) Yeah!! Stay tuned for more pictures.

End of the Year Awards

Well it's that time of year again.  The end of the school year which means Awards.  Wiggles got three this year: Citizenship Award, Memory Verses Award, and Most Improved in Computers.  Again this year Monkey had to sit with me during the entire event and like last year asked the same question in a not so quiet voice " Is it over yet?", "Are we done, can we leave yet".  I even brought his dot to dot book, snacks too.  Next year he wont be asking me those question, because he will be up with the rest of the kids in Kindergarten.

Dance Recital

Wiggles has just about finished her 1st year of Ballet and is signed up for next year already.  She will go to Dance Camp for one week at the end of the month. Don't worry it's not an away type camp just a morning type camp.  Just this last weekend we had Wiggles "Graduation Recital".  She did such a great job!  I would have taken pictures but we were not aloud too.  Below is a picture of Wiggles after the recital!  She was so excited to get to wear make-up again. 

Movie Night !

Our friends invited us out to their home for a movie night, along with about 111 other friends.  Yeah you read right there were 115 people at their house to watch a movie outside on the big screen.

 I'm thinking the desert would be a great place for this screen! What do you think?  We waited until dusk to start the movie and everyone had a great time.  The kids had fun playing with their friends, as we did talking with our friends.

When the movie was about over they light a balloon of sorts. 

It was pretty cool. 

We're looking forward to the next one!

They're Back!

The killdeer that is.  The last few years we've had killdeer nest in our front yard.  It's been fun to watch and listen to them.  The kids have enjoyed watching them too.  When I took the pictures we had one egg now there are 4 eggs.  We are very cautious around them and respect what their comfort zone is.  If we get too close then they start squawking and we retreat!

AWANA AWARDS

Well it's that time of year again where everything starts winding down for summer break.  We just finished up our AWANA awards.  This was my last year on Leadership at least for right now.  After 4 years I need a break. Love AWANA but time to let others lead.  Here are some pictures of the kids with their friends.

Afterwards we went to Yogurtland for a special treat with some of our friends from AWANA.  Our group grew from last year AWANA 2010 

 Here is the younger crew with one of the dads.  We couldn't fit all of them at one table this year, as it was with just out three families we took up 1/2 the store.  Next year I think we just see if we can rent it out for an hour (j/k).
