Pool Party!!!

Okay so it wasn't a real pool party just a play date.  But the kids did get to play in the pool with their friends.  They had a blast too as did us Mom's.

Monkey's Debut!

 

 

 Last night Monkey's Preschool had a Musical Showcase.  It was also a fundraiser for the preschool though it was down played quite a bit.Monkey is on the right hand side second one in. Sorry for the lack of quality on the video, we got there on time but everyone else got there 1/2 hour early.  We had to sit in our seats and not move from them.  We will be purchasing the video from the school of the entire showcase so if you want to see it let me know and we can work it out. :)
I was able to take some video of Monkey and his group.  What a great job he did we were all really impressed and had a lot of fun watching these kids ham it up.  One thing I've noticed with my kids is they might act shy but they aren't!!  This week both kids had performances at school and both did amazing jobs when it was there turn on stage.  With the school ending next month most of our things are ending for the school year so lots of performances are going on or will soon be going on.  Lots of fun stuff going on. 

Spring Break Fun!

This year Wiggles Spring Break was late compared to all her friends.  She had the week after Easter off this year.  Poor Monkey didn't get a spring break, so we just pulled him out two of the three days he goes.  I wasn't sure what I was going to do with the kids this year because Monkey had school so I didn't tell either of them what the plan was.  Remember I didn't really have a plan.  We had some Doctor's appointments and I had a meeting during the week so I figured we'd just try to do some fun things at our house. Well that's no fun.  So the Monday after Easter I pulled Monkey and we went down to Sea World.  

 I was having the kids take pictures and then I think a guy felt bad and offered to take our picture.  So we were all able to be in a picture together.  Very rare when it's just the three of us. 

 Wiggles wanted a picture with the penguin so I humored her and got one.  Monkey wanted nothing to do with the guy/gal in the penguin suit. 

 He was all over standing behind the penguin stand and sticking his head through though. 

 So we went to see the polar bears, and other arctic animals and they had this sign up.  I couldn't resist having Wiggles stand under the sign. After all I figured if any of our Canadian family members saw my post they'd appreciate it. 

 We managed to go on some rides, I know Wiggles looks concerned but just so you know She picked the ride.  It's like the tea cups only it's Sesame Street Character ride.  

We went to see all the shows at Sea World and the kids had a blast, see they are happy. 

We saw lots of animals that day see:

And of course the Killer Whale show.  

I must say though the Killer Whale (Shamu show) isn't has fun now.  Last year one of the whales killed one of the handlers and so they have not let the trainers back in the water with them. So the trainers have to stand outside the water and direct from the sides.  Even after the show the trainers stand behind a metal barrier to feed the whales and pet them.  Its so sad to watch.  I understand the reasoning behind it but it is oh so sad for all involved.

     

He has Risen !

He has Risen Indeed!! For Easter this year we went to our Church and then drove up for dinner with Daddy's family.  The kids got to hang out with their cousins and have a great time with family. 

 Daddy went and got his old Star Wars toys so the kids could play with them.  Boy did they play and play with them.  Monkey was so excited when he saw what was in the box, so was Wiggles.  Monkey played so long I bet when we go back he will be looking for all the toys again.

And there off to find all the eggs.  Wiggles and Monkey had to actually hunt for their eggs since they are the oldest we had to make it fair for the two younger kids.

Visiting Auntie Glitterbug

Auntie Glitterbug has been back on this side of the country for some time now and we finally were able to go see her new place.  We went just before Easter hoping that would be a good time and boy did we all have fun getting the tour and enjoying hanging out with Auntie Glitterbug.

 Auntie was very nice and got them some Easter goodies here is Monkey putting together his mini lego set.  He had so much fun with it and loves playing with them all the time.  Yup our Monkey is a Lego boy through and through. 

 Wiggles so wants to learn to knit and Auntie has been trying to teach her too.  It's fun to watch and even funner to watch at home when Wiggles tries to show me what she's doing and when you look she's just wrapping the yarn around the needles.  Auntie has lots of patience. 

The kids played so hard at one point they helped themselves to Aunties bed.  They are taking a little rest.  

We did die eggs with the kids. The eggs do not look like it but they were mostly neon in color.  We had fun doing this little activity with Auntie Glitter bug too!  So much fun.  Can't wait to take the kids back and have a swim party up there this summer. :)

Twin Day at School

If you've been reading this blog for at least a year you know that Wiggles school has free dress days once a month and it's themed.  So April's theme was Twin day.  Oh boy did we have fun.  Now there is a girl in Wiggles class that has a similar background to Wiggles and well from a distance at the beginning of the year you couldn't tell from the back who was who at a glance.  So Tweedy Bird and Wiggles paired up for twin day.  We got matching shirts for the girls, decided on what uniform bottoms to wear, shoes and how to wear their hair. We did not plan on the color of rubber band or sweater to wear that just happened, purple sweater/jackets and teal blue rubber band.  Again those were not planned.  It was fun to see and we all had a good laugh about it.

The reason I call Wiggles friend Tweedy Bird is because they do this.  They yell tweedy bird and act like little birds.  It's cute and silly at the same time.

Crafts and Easter Gifts

I love to sew but I don't get a lot of time to do it.  So when Holiday's come around I try to make the time to make something for my kids.  This year I got the "Bright" idea to make a tie for Monkey for Easter.  I thought he'd look so cute in it.  Below is a picture of the tie.

Now for Wiggles she has needed a bag for church.  She needs to bring her Bible to church and she gets some   "Spring Bucks" for being on time, bringing her Bible, etc.  So I got the "Bright" idea to make her a bag.

Wiggles now has a bag to keep her Bible in and her "Spring Bucks".  She is also using this bag for AWANA too.  It's a nice bag.  I hope she will use it for many years to come.  I can always make her a newer one when this theme seems too childish for her. I pray that day is a very LONG day away. 

So the last thing I did was make a cute pillow for each kid. A "tooth fairy" pillow.  Both kids know that there is no tooth fairy. But they still like the idea well Wiggles does cause she's been loosing teeth left and right.  Monkey according to the Dentist (they just went this last week) says a year and a half before he looses a tooth.  So it is a bit early for Monkey to get his pillow but I couldn't resist.  I even made one for a friends daughter.  So here are the "tooth fairy" pillows.

I'm currently trying to make a lunch box for Wiggles but I'm not too hopeful on that project.
