Picnic anyone?

Wiggles has been asking to go on a picnic at the park down the street from our house.  We were going to just go to the park yesterday but Wiggles got sidetracked building a fort in her room.  So today I took her and Monkey to the park for a picnic. A nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon on a beautiful day right.  Overall we had a good time.  We did have to talk about what is okay for a 6 year old once but I think she is slowly getting it.  We would have stayed longer but this park doesn't have restrooms so we had to run home for a little person.

Over all it was a nice time at the park we will do it again but maybe try a different park. Maybe one that doesn't have the tagging and other graffiti on the play structures.  Six and Five year olds don't need to read that kind of stuff.  :)

Out of Towners

 So for Memorial Day we asked if Ang and her family wanted to come to Sea World with us.  So we drove down for the day.  What fun we had.  Watching the Shamu show.

Here is Monkey with his new treasure: Elmo.  Don't ask me why I can't answer that.  I just know we walked in to a store so Uncle B could get a hat and then next thing I know I have one kid asking me for a necklace and Daddy is just saying ask your Mom you'll have better luck.  So I of course took the lead.  I asked both kids what they wanted and wa la Monkey has a new lovey.  Wiggles only wanted a necklace and I talked her into a Sesame Street mini stuffed animal dressed in a ballerina outfit. I took it as a challenge. :) 

Beach Dinners

 We have now started to do dinners on select Fridays at the beach!  The kids have fun and the adults can talk with out being interrupted well most of the time.

 See even the Dads had fun in the sand.  Actually we went when high tide was coming and the beach we were at doesn't have much beach in areas. So the Dads tried to make a moat so our things wouldn't get toasted.  They did a great job too. We eventually moved up the beach so we could still enjoy the nice weather.

Were missing one in the picture but that's because she was at the waters edge playing in it.  I'm still trying to figure out how to get the dirt out of the swim suit. :\  If anyone has any ideas on that let me know soon. I think this summer we will try and spend some more time at the beach, we will see how that works out. Stay tuned to see if we do or don't. 

What's Your favorite thing?

 Apparently one of Wiggles favorite things is to have sock fights at home with the rest of us. Who would have thought sock fights would be her favorite thing.  Not me....   We recently had Open House at Wiggles school.  There was a performance before and then we got to run around to all the classes checking out where Wiggles will go next year, take Monkey to what we hope and pray will be his Kindergarten teacher/classroom.    Sure I could have posted pictures of the performance but really this stole the whole night!  I had parents coming up to me the rest of the night asking what is a "Sock Fight anyways".  

Just to clarify a Sock Fight is as follows: While Daddy is getting ready for work and trying to put his socks on lets steal them from him and get the rest of his socks out of his drawer.  Then we can throw them at him.

Sunday Worship at School.

 Each year at the kids school each grade level performs for worship on a Sunday.  This year with Monkey in school he had a turn as well.  There you see him after the service when we were able to take pictures of all the preschoolers present.  There were only about 11 kids from the preschool that showed up.  Two from Monkey's class.  The little girl in the green is one of Monkey's buddies in class.  Yes I made him where a tie.

Mother's Day

What did you do on Mother's Day if you celebrated?  We went to DISNEYLAND!  (did that sound cheesy like the sports winners)   It was my choice since our passes have now expired.  We only had a few weekends we could go and since we had to cancel our last trip planned we opted to go on Mother's Day.  I had heard that it wasn't that busy on Mother's Day.  Um I heard wrong.  It of course didn't help that the Pirate's movie premiered the night before and they still hadn't broken down anything.  So that made New Orleans square area a nightmare!

We had a good time though, we met up with some friends from home who just got their passes.  Bummer ours expired.  Maybe we'll all get them together in the future.    The kids got to visit with their friends and the adults got to visit too.  Made for a great day and an even better Mother's Day.

Monkey loves Winnie the Pooh.  So as his souvenir of our year at Disney he choose a Winne the Pooh stuffed animal.  Monkey says his name is Pooh it's written on his shirt so when we say it's Winnie the Pooh he says No it's Pooh see it's written write here and points to the shirt.

We had so much fun on our last trip as a family to Disneyland. One of these days we'll buy passes again but for now we will just have to look back at our trips to the Wonderful world of Disney.

Other things at Legoland

Like the previous post said we made our way over to Legoland for one more last hurrah before spring break was over.  While the Star Wars stuff was a BIG bonus we did take the kids on rides and we even saw one of Wiggles' friends from school.  So here you go some pictures of our other sightings there.

The kids were making music with the water instruments by stepping on little round circles in front of the instrument.  They had fun going back and forth.

Monkey was so excited this was the first time he could go on this ride. He was finally tall enough. 

The kids sure were okay being in the belly of a shark. Hmm....

Wiggles so wanted to be a part of the show. Even if she thought the sound was too loud.  She was so happy to be chosen to be in the show.
