Seaworld with Cousins!

With summer in full swing around here we set up a play-date with cousins at Sea World.  Monkey and Wiggles had a great time visiting with their cousins.  What better place then Sea World too, the kids love animals and we were able to see plenty of them too.  We even went around and saw some places we wouldn't normally go.  The excitement of the day I think was when the kids got to go on the rides.  Wiggles got to go on a ride all by herself for the first time ever!
Wiggles on her first ever ride by herself.

 Happy kids and Auntie!
Ms. McKenna just relaxing and waiting patiently for the others to get off the ride.

Taking a much needed break from the shows and animal watching to get some ice cream.  It was blue bunny ice cream and very very yummy!

Independance Day

This Independence Day we stayed really local.  We went to a friends house and the kids and Daddy swam.  We came home to build a fire in our pit and watch the fireworks from our own backyard.  We also listened to the local radio show that went along with the fireworks.  Wiggles and Monkey are doing great at swim and learning so much.  Everyone had a great time and we are so grateful to all the men and women that serve in  the military to keep us safe and free.
Finally got our family a flag to fly.  This made me smile from head to toe.
Kids out with the flag in their patriotic shirts.

Kids and Daddy in the pool having a great time!
Monkey being so funny shooting people with the water gun.
Wiggles taking a turn on the slide.
Monkey taking his turn on the slide too!  Notice how both kids are in the same spot.
Then there is Daddy.  Perfect form. You need a lot of upper body strength when going down on this slide.

How does our Garden grow?

Well with miracle grow of course.  Wiggles has been asking to grow a garden for a very long time.  Since I seem to be on a roll with home projects I decided to go ahead an build a garden.  Wiggles and I went to Home Depot and picked up the soil and then we picked out the veggies and fruit.  Then we went home to build our garden.
Step 1: clean out the rocks from our little plot.
Step 2: Make sure all the rocks are out so we can put the new soil in.
Oh yeah and take a pic of Wiggles looking cute in Grandpa's Tilly.
Step 3:  Start planting the actual veggies and fruit.
Step 4: Look at the final product and pray that it grows so your child will get to see how fruits and veggies grow.
You might be asking what are we growing?  Well we are growing corn, cilantro, bell peppers (green and red),  roma tomatoes, zucchini and watermelon. Lots of stuff for a little garden but I just had a hard time telling Wiggles no.  We will see what happens.  So far we do have tomatoes, bell peppers and the corn is growing.

Ballet Camp

Just after school let out Wiggles went to Dance Camp again.  One week, three hours, five days.  She had a blast and we were able to see what she learned on the last day of camp.  Wiggles class showed us ballet moves and jazz moves.  They did two dances, one ballet and one jazz.  She had such a good time not only will she be doing ballet next fall we are also adding  a jazz class too.  So she will have dance for 1.5 hours a week come the fall.
Here is Wiggles doing bar work.

Learning to Sew!

Wiggles wanted to learn to sew.  I decided to go ahead and teacher her how to sew a pillow it's easy enough and I had some extra stuffing that she could use.  While I worked on patience Wiggles worked on sewing a straight line and following directions.
Working hard on sewing a straight line and taking it slow so she doesn't hurt herself.
Learning when to turn the material.
Almost done sewing.
All done.  Not bad for a first timer.  She ended up making another one for her brother later in the day.

County Fair

Apparently Wiggles didn't like the smell of the cow.  Don't understand this one cause the cow didn't stink.

Every year we try to make it out to the County Fair.  This year was no different, we made it out and Daddy got to join us this year.  We saw lots of animals cows, horses, sheep, pigs, rabbits, guinea pigs, turkeys you get the picture.  We also  sampled some fair food.  We had are stand-by Old West Cinnamon Rolls, we tried some pretzels drenched in parmesan  cheese, and one more item but it escapes me right now.  Fair food is good but not that healthy for you.
Here I'd understand the covering the nose thing cause they did smell.

 Turkey races oh so fun!

I loved going over to the horse area and watch them .  Here is one horse getting a work out.
They had a bunch of horses lined up about 20 different breeds that you could go look at.  I loved this one. Sorry can't tell you the breed.
Wiggles and Monkey trying out their riding postures.
I think they'd do great riding horse just don't tell them and please don't go buying them a horse either we just don't have room.

Wiggles Room 2

Since Monkey's room is finished. We started Wiggles room, it went from a muted mocha color to a refreshing spring like pink.
Wiggles painting her room.  We (my friends and I) saved her a square of her room to paint.
Having fun painting.  Of course shortly after this she was done. Reason why we only had a small square to paint. It's only for for so long.
All moved back in.
There will be one more post about Wiggles room.  About 3 weeks from painting her room we can put up the vinyls.   So stay tuned to see what we did to the rest of her room. :)

Finishing touches.....

About three weeks after doing Monkey's room I was able to put up the final touches on his room.  The above picture is a vinyl I bought back in 2009 for his room but never got around to redoing his room until now.  The saying still stands and I know one day my boy will move mountains because he doesn't stop trying.
For the playful side of him we bought glow in the dark Star Wars vinyls.  the light sabers glow in the dark. Monkey says they protect him  from the invisible bugs that are in his room.  I think we need to stop telling him don't let the bed bugs bite.  :)
